Luke Norris' presents a story of friendship and identity, exploring the dynamics and tensions between several friends who've grown up together in Southend, Essex, and are now coping with the loss of one of their own. The play explores modern British social ideals of manhood, and the challenges of understanding yourself and expressing your individuality in an oppressively conformist society.

My goal in the design was to focus on the bleaker landscapes of Southend to express the loneliness and isolation each of the characters feels. I wanted to recreate a section of sea wall to emulate the edge of land, for the actors to be staring into the sea, beyond land, and into the void.
