This is a piece about isolation and what it really means to be a struggling artist in New York. I wanted to contrast the cozy, jumbled oasis of the protagonists' living space against a slick and hard black surface representing the cold and unyielding world of the city outside, that reflected back at them without letting them in as they question their identities and place in the world.
